Surgical Technique
Vaginoplasty is done in the office under local anesthesia, typically taking approximately 1-2 hours. What to Expect
You will receive an anesthetic cream on the surgical site to start the anesthetic process. You will also receive anti-anxiety medication, pain medication, and an injection of Marcaine at the surgical site. We monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure, ask you to tell us of your comfort level, and allow you to nap if you wish. Surgery takes approximately 1-2 hours. You can typically return to work in 5-7 days and do only light activities for 2 weeks. To allow appropriate healing and promote the best results, you must remain on pelvic rest for 6-8 weeks.
